In response to the massive demand for a hassle-free iPod car experience, Monster and SoundGate announced a new stereo interface for the iPod called the iCruze.

iCruze Stereo Interface

In an effort to make our lives easier, the iCruze doesn’t require a proprietary port, cassette adapter, line-in, FM transceiver, or a Master’s degree in engineering.

So how does it work? The iCruze uses the existing CD-changer or satellite radio connection in your car creating a direct-line connection to your iPod with great sound quality.

An optional iCruze LCD screen can be purchased separately to display ID3 tags from iPod to show track title and artist information. Definitely worth it.

The iCruze is a great solution and allows you to keep your current stereo head unit and forego all those crappy-sounding FM transceiver options.

The Car Industry Moves Way Too Slow

Hats off to Monster for bringing a solution like the iCruze to the auto industry. How soon do consumers have to wait before car manufacturers start offering an iPod dock car stereo option? Until then, the iCruze fills a much needed void. The fact that the iCruze will work with virtually hundreds of different vehicles is a major plus.
